During the summer of 2005, he pitched in the AAABA (All-American Amateur Baseball Association) League in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and saw himself named Rookie of the Year that summer. In 2007, he saw his Delweld team capture the AAABA regular season championship. Martin spent the 2018-19 seasons as an assistant coach at Penn State Altoona. In his first year as skipper of the Paul Carpenters organization, he saw his club capture the AAABA crown.

Currently, he resides in California, Pa. where he serves as an assistant coach at California University of Pennsylvania under legendary head coach Mike Conte. Shaffer also serves as The Bullpen Bulls 15U head coach.
During his collegiate playing career at Clarion (three years), he saw time on the field from the moment he arrived on campus as a freshman. Shaffer finished his career with 144 games played while scoring 45 total runs. He also recorded 12 doubles, 10 stolen bases and 31 RBI's.

Sue Snyder

Bio: Snyder, who is the lead softball pitching instructor, joined The Bullpen in September 2020. She has 25 years of private pitching instruction experience, while coaching nine PIAA State Championship pitchers. Five of those pitchers within the last five years). She has also developed over 100 college pitchers across all divisions.
From 1994 through 2007, Snyder was the head softball coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). In her 13-year career at IUP, she amassed 311 victories, which is most in program history. She was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Coach of the Year in 2003 and made 11 PSAC Championship Tournament appearances, and seven NCAA Tournament Appearances.
Of her former student-athletes, she saw 83 earn PSAC All-Conference honors, two PSAC Rookie of the Year recipients, one PSAC Athlete of the Year recipient, 32 NFCA All-Region players, and one NCAA First Team All-American recipient. Snyder has coached at every level of softball, ranging from 9-10U Little League, to 18U ASA Softball, high school, and NCAA Division II.
